The Art & Evidence of Attendant Care Assessments: Defensibility, Discrepancy, and the OT Scope

Presenters: Sue Cook, Occupational Therapist, and Rebecca Morrin, Occupational Therapist, Abilities Rehabilitation Services

Moderator: Dr. Melissa Paniccia, Occupational Therapist, Precision OT Network

***This program qualifies for 1.5 hours of substantive CPD credits.***

This webinar provides an in-depth examination of the scope of occupational therapy practice in the completion of attendant care assessments, with emphasis on evaluation of all dimensions of client functioning and the necessity of articulating a clear, evidence-informed rationale for allocated care minutes.

The program will discuss the discrepancies that often arise between insurer and plaintiff occupational therapy assessments, highlighting the implications these differences may have on clinical conclusions and service recommendations.  Additionally, the session will address the variability in both the cost and quality of attendant care reports across the profession.   Given the complexity and evolving nature of this practice area the webinar underscores the essential role of lifelong learning, continuous competency development, and adherence to professional standards in promoting high-quality, defensible occupational therapy practice.
